If I could have multiple Facebook statuses at one go, it would be:

Kenneth is seeking to bring change into this church.

Kenneth is going to be more vocal about his thoughts, views and standards.

Kenneth is not going to compromise on living his life out for Him, and miss out on the blessing.

Kenneth is going to be more disciplined about school work and start getting down to business.

Kenneth is going to make the best out of this semester, to change a life, one person at a time.

Kenneth is going to ask to play the guitar for cell week in, week out.

Kenneth is believing for lives to be transformed, to input the CHC DNA into others.

Kenneth is burdened because people are diluting God's standards with their own social and culture standards.

Kenneth is more than ever willing, to renounce the connect group leader he used to be, past successes AND failures, to step into His Destiny.

Kenneth is determined to lead a life that is pleasing to God, so that it rises up as an offering as a sweet smelling aroma to Him.

No more running wild, I'm yours for life. You got me here, You got me right here. You've got me in my heart. And You've got my undivded attention. So let the fear of the Lord come upon me, such that I may be faithful and committed to you, to resist all temptation, and focus on the higher calling that You have placed within my heart. As You look upon me from heaven, watching my every move, reading my every thought, convict my heart so that I may not be led astray. For the wisdom of the Lord is upon me, to direct my path, to make the right decisions. This IS my cry God, my greatest desire above all, to love the Lord my God with all my heart, all my soul, and all my mind. Thank You for all that You've done in my precious life, for now is the time not just for me, but for the hundreds and thousands of people out there to get their lives transformed by nobody else but You.

kristos kai kosmos. Your time. Your culture. Your people.

Goodbyee....

So Summer Holidays came and gone and tomorrow I head back for yet another exciting, challenging semester. I feel particularly relucted to go as compared to last July because I had lesser emotional baggage to carry with me. This time round after having spend so much great memories with various groups of people, what more can I possibly ask for?

Pastor YK, who has been a great influence and inspiration over my life. His unspoken words of wisdom, care, concern were felt through his little actions and surprise greetings. Occasionally teasing me of my love interest, through this I felt his love towards me. I was amazed at how you called for me even after celebrating your birthday and ordination with the zone. You made me feel proud to be a part of your zone and as a connect group leader. Pastor I appreciate you for all the little things that you have done for me, and hopefully the next time I'm back I'll be better at basketball to play with you and the rest of the church staff.

Boonkiat and Pauline, the dynamic couple who radically changed my life after Pastor YK. No words could ever convey how I love and appreciate the both of you. I am glad to see myself mature under the leadership of both of you, to transform from a naive, playful, gullible 17 year old, to a responsible, mature young adult. Thank you both for the words of wisdom you have spoken over my life, and you will definitely here from me through my emails. Indeed, I am blessed to be under such strong leadership, and I cant wait for the next meal together!

The Fantastic Four, what can I say, we have easily the best chemistry in the entire subzone. Living our lives in different cell groups, our brotherly love certainly knows no bounds. Thank God for each of you individually, for blessing me in ways that only you can. Though most of our time was spent doing nonsense stuff and playing soccer, but every single minute I treasure because there is no other like you guys. Thank you LK, for being the sai kang warrior. Thank you Wayne, for being the ahpek you are, and of course the fridge of the Promised land. Although no milk and honey, but milo and h-two-o are good substitutes. And Dixon, for..... the prayer on sunday. Till June when we will turn the world upside down, Au Revoir!

Sarah, the noisiest person I have ever known to date. If there was a loudest-voice contest, she'll win it hands down. Thank you for enlightening me on certain issues in life. Thank you for allowing me to judge for myself which is right and which is wrong, for offering your perspectives. Thank you for being a listening ear when I needed one, and thank you for not broadcasting my issues with that loudhailer voice of yours. Really appreciate you for all you've done for me. We'll sing again when I come back!

To the rest of you whom I have missed/delibrately left out, its because I have no pictures with you or I am just plain lazy to type everything out. But I am sure that I have spent adequate time with everybody, I hope, and if there are any violent objections please do let me know so that I can take note and spend more time with you when I am back. Do not despair if you do not find a section without you, if I really wanted to do something for you, I would have already done it in one way or another. So dont worry, it dosent mean I love you any less, because if I were to write for every single one of you, not only will I die crying because I cant bear to leave you, you will die trying to find your section in the extremely long post.
So yup, do drop me mails! I promise 100% reply, and of course, skype me! It would definitely bring joy to me to be able to see you guys. So as I board the plane, remember me always because every single day I'll be thinking of you. I'll be waiting. :) Till next time, Kenneth loves you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you.
Dang I hate goodbyes. Oh well. I have 4 more goodbyes to handle after this.

Lift up your eyes all you people, to the left, to the right, to wherever!

Well, to start off, this blog entry is based on highly controversial information pertaining to a conversation I had with ______ and _______ last night, or rather this morning. Indeed, I am amazed at how _____-ism has its ability to impact lives, and yesterday, he probably had won over a new convert. The basis of the above title is simple: The people of today are simply too narrowminded. Remember about the story we were told when we were toddlers? The one where the frog was in a hole and couldnt get out? All it could see was within the boundary of that circle.

If we are living in the last days in this generation, I have every reason to believe it will likely come to pass. Look at what the global recession is doing to people everywhere and anywhere! The poor are getting poorer, unemployment increasing. The jobless find it even harder to source for jobs as companies adopt what seems to be similar to a live firing range. If Obama is to be our God-sent Shamgar (quote from Xinhong's blog) to the world, then he'd better have a solution to change the world one country at a time. Certainly the world is watching his moves to remedy the economy, but listen to me, do not pin your hopes based on one man alone. To be very honest, I think his speeches are awesome, it captivates the hearts of the people. But what if Obama fails to save the world? People say that this man is our only hope, and till today I am not afraid to say that I am still apprehensive of him as the President of USA. No doubt he is black, I've no qualms against it as long as he saves the world.

Furthermore, everyone is so focused on the credit crisis and recession that we fail to keep a tab on environmental and resource affairs. The issue of global warming is always our Achilles heel, and will continue to haunt us if we dont do anything about it. Our ozone layer, the greenhouse effect, the very existence of humanity is threatened. Scary? DUH. I dont see how this is less important than the recession. Resources. Our Oil supply is being depleted like never before. AND YET. yet most of us Singaporeans prefer Arts and Social Science degrees rather than Engineering. I am not saying that it is wrong to take up such bachelor's, but I am glad that I am enlightened and I am glad I took up Chemical Engineering. How on earth can one person having a Bachelor's in Law or Masters or PhD, go out there and look for alternate sources of energy? We need to pick our choices wisely. In university now? its still not too late!

Lift up your eyes and look EVERYWHERE. Seriously I pity those taking Commerce, Business, whatever. The world is SATURATED and INFESTED with them! Yet every year universities across the world still take in ridiculously LARGE amount of students for these courses. What makes YOU think that you can change the world when you graduate? Do you really think that setting up a business in Singapore is that easy? Do you really think that by entering the Big Four, you have arrived? I sincerely doubt so because it is the cold hard truth. My friends laugh at me because Engineering is easily ranked among the top hardest courses in tertiary education. But I dont care because eventually when I come out, the globe has a need to be met. If I can find a source of energy, or find solutions to help save the environment, I'll probably be richer than Bill Gates/Warren Buffett/whoever's rich, and use million dollar bills to wipe my backside whenever I use the toilet.

I plead with you. Stop looking within your own boundaries and start looking out of your boundaries. Likewise, my very own CHC Senior Pastor is not God. He is as human as you and I! FOR EXAMPLE. Lets say one day he steps down from the Leadership board of CHC and leaves to become a monk at some ulu temple in Taiwan, what would you think? THIS IS REALLY AN EXAMPLE. and God will definitely not allow that to happen. Would you still follow God whole heartedly? or would you be a flaky Christian and backslide. Our youths of today face a major problem: Conformity vs Maturity. Rules are simply guidelines to GUIDE us in life. Not life principles which we should hold on to like a dog does with its bone. Die also dont let go. Then it becomes a mindset which will probably stay with them for the rest of their lives UNTIL someone enlightens and renews his/her mind. Whatever happened to the liberty in the church? From what we are seeing, there is an exchange that the wrong is becoming right and the right becomes wrong. It is NO WONDER that people are finding the Christianity weird, boring, out-of-date, irrelevant.

Its all in the mind, are you willing to be set free? HOW HARD CAN IT BE TO ALLOW PEOPLE TO DATE! (Disclaimer: This does not dictate my own love life to be like Romeo and Juliet) How shallow it is, to slam people from doing the "supposedly" wrong thing? Imagine if I have a girlfriend and she wants to stay over, by all means stay! I am perfectly fine with that, my house is so big that I can have the whole cell group over! So what if someone catches me alone with a girl, sharing popcorn and drinks, laughing in the cinema. So what if someone catches me sending my "girlfriend" all the way home, kissing her at the doorstep, giving flowers and chocolate, and stuff for her family. After 22 years of age, dont you tell me that I dont know what is right or wrong, or it is not "standard church protocol". Where is the maturity?! Like in the Bible, the Old Testament was only relevant for the people during THAT time. We are living in the NEW COVENANT now, so we dont see during service the security brings in the lamb to place on the altar and then Pastor Derek comes up to light the altar to offer the lamb as a burnt offering?! NO! Guidelines are placed upon our life only to mean as a guide. Not to bind us for life. As you mature, and grow in the Lord, if you dont need those guidelines anymore, by all means dont follow!

Pastor Kong's messages on kristos kai kosmos dont only affect the marketplace culture, it affects the church culture as well! I have seen people that give the weird expression when they find out that I drink, or I go to pubs, or I develop relationships with various girls to find the right partner. Does it mean I am an alcoholic and a flirt? NO. Firstly I draw my lines very clearly. Drink, dont drive. Drive, dont drink. And I dont hold my alcohol very well, so I drink quite little. Secondly, there is nothing wrong with making more female friends! It does not mean EVERY GIRL I meet means I would want to engage in a passionate BGR with them?!! If I did I would be the olden day Emperor with thousands of concubines! Truly, our narrowmindedness needs to be broken down!

If there is one thing _____ , ______ and I would hold close to my heart among all the guidelines, it would be our spiritual disciplines. And DEFINITELY not rigid, stupid, rules that people place upon their lives just to appear "right" before others. If you need it to keep in check for that season in time, by all means, go ahead. But PLEASE. when the winter season is OVER, dont you ever walk around in your ESKIMO suit when summer comes.

** I would like to apologize if people are actually offended by this post. But before you actually pass judgement on me even when I'm overseas, I beseech you to think through what I've blogged AND THINK HARD. Perhaps then, the world would be a better place to live in with another person with a free-ed up mindset. Thank you for your valuable time.**

Well done ---> I am hungry. Are you?

From this..............

To this........

I am so proud of playing with a bunch of passionate, creative, and fun-loving people! Though people have came and left, I am glad that as a pioneer of this band, I stayed on to make things happen with you guys. Not only leading worship and creating an atmosphere for it, but to build a budding relationship with each and every single one of you. Yesterday as I briefly led the 2 praise songs Elevate Your Name and Shout it Loud, as well as My Life, Your Song, I can truly say that we have arrived. Though I could tell that some of you arent entirely confident of playing through all the songs, the presence of God was there, and that alone is all people need to receive a touch, a revelation, a vision, a purpose from Him.

As I sat through service yesterday, I felt that as Pastor preached on the various needs that needed to be met, we need to be very much conscious of our spiritual needs as well. Over the years, ministry sessions in our services has changed. It used to be that as youths, Pastor would have altar calls week after week, lay hands on us, people fall under the power of God and allow us to get filled on the inside. It used to be that people will get slain. But right now, all that has been reduced to being prayed for. The only reason I could ever think of, its probably the church entering into the marketplace, catering to the needs of young working professionals. Just for the record, I am not denying the power of prayer, but my heart aches for the newer generation of believers that have never experienced such radical ministry. My heart aches because some of them have seldom fell under the power of God.

I am sure that most of the leaders/connect group leaders would agree that the key defining moments in their Christian walk would be the times when they got really ministered to. It is only through those times where their lives get transformed, mindsets changed. And yet, the sad fact is we are seeing less and less of it. Of course, I am not saying that everytime you MUST fall under the power or whatever. But we need to experience it (ministry) often enough to recharge, refill and renew. It all boils down to spiritual hunger. and our spiritual disciplines. Where has that special moment gone, where a person randomly strums a song and suddenly it becomes a small prayer meeting and people get touched, words for each other get spoken, and people literally cry out and kneel/ prostrate before the altar?

I refuse to believe that is a thing of the past. Simply because Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever. If you are as hungry as you were before when you were at that special meeting, then you have not broken through. I distinctly recall the last time I was really burdened. It was at my harbourfront place, and we were having a prayer meeting, without any aircon, and only fan to blow. But that didnt stop me from being burdened. I felt as if there was a weight upon my back and I was weeping. As I prayed for growth for the cell group especially the guys, I was tearing buckets. And when I was done, the weight was gone. This is just a snippet from one of my memories, and especially during such encounters, we dont want to just stop there. But eventually all good things come to an end (including such experiences with God). Immediately the next service, the next quiet time, the next prayer meeting, the next time you seek God, you got to tell God "there must be more than this." UNTIL you encounter Him again.

Dig deeper guys. Dig deeper. There is no point reminiscing your former SOT days, because I believe whatever happened in SOT for you, can happen anywhere else. SOT is not the Promised Land where you have milk and honey. (It probably is for most who have limited encounters) Dont you ever think your spirtual graph hits a maximum point at SOT. If it does, then your spiritual life is on the downhill already and you gotta do something about it. I myself need to dig deeper, and dig harder as I return to Australia so I am as human as you are. Just probably different from the girls physically.

pre-Valentine's Day

With the much-anticipated Valentine's Day coming up for most couples (especially newly-matched couples), I decided to blog about love. Love is the most important emotion/feeling, and yet more often than not, it is underrated and taken for granted. The 1 way 2 say 3 words to your loved one is so frequently used that sometimes we assume that the love is already there. How shallow is that?

Love is looking after your mentally-retarded son suffering from Down's Syndrome, and helping him to regain his sanity.

Love is not giving up on your first-born child when you realise he/she has any form of deformity or missing body parts at the hospital.

Love choosing not to abort yur foetus from a rape incident, and forgiving the very man that raped you.

Love is providing for your grandparents even though you know that you have been in the red for a few months already and the bank is going to repossess your flat.

I would love to love the people around me much more,... only to realise that i'll be leaving soon. I'm afraid to love you more because you'll miss me. I'm afraid to love you more because I'll miss you even more.

But I'll still love you because love knows no boundaries.

Thank you for a wonderful 3 months. =)

So till next time in June '09... SEE YOU!

I'll be waiting....

Happy Birthday, Krystle Liew

Youtube Videos Updated!

Added 3 more songs:

CHC's Shout It Loud
Hillsong's Take It All

Enjoy and keep practicising! Oh and I delibrately refused to sing so that you guys can sing-a-long.

Aside from that I've decided to use Youtube to do video blogs, or rather Vlogs, when I'm over in Aussieland. Its much easier and FASTER way to blog, but depends though. I hope the internet can help me by being faster. And you guys can see me physically as well. haha. dont worry, I wont dare to do a vlog in my bath robe/topless. R21 already. Yup so stay tuned!
